Advance Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Philanthropy

Forefront is engaging Members, allies, and other stakeholders to move the needle in our sector around these critically important values.

Vision: Philanthropy is more effective with new voices and perspectives informing its board and leadership, investments, and community engagement.

Long-term goals:

> At least 20 grantmaking Members (along with Forefront) develop skills and build their cultural competency.
> Achieve a goal of at least 30% diversity for Forefront's board, staff, committees, Member Networks, and Strategic Initiative working groups.
> At least 30 grantmaking Members change their recruitment and hiring practices to broaden their diversity and inclusion efforts.

Recent results: We have identified the strategic direction, goals, and action plans for the short-term goals of educating grantmaking Members and engaging them in positive action.

Work in progress: This year, our goal is to have 20 grantmaking Members (as well as our own organization) assess their cultural competency, establishing baseline skills. We will also publish a biennial diversity scorecard for Forefront.
