DESCRIPTION:Please join the Philanthropy Club for our August 2020 Virtual Event. \nMany nonprofit organizations were created to resolve problems that result from institutionalized discrimination.  The panel will offer a critical examination of the systems that have created a gap in resources that disproportionately affects black\, brown\, LGBTQ+ people and women.   \n  \n  \n\nPanelists include:\n  \nRev. Dr. Marilyn Pagán-Banks serves as the Executive Director for A Just Harvest\, which utilizes three comprehensive strategies to combat hunger and poverty: direct service; advocacy\, outreach and community organizing; and community and economic development.\nIshan Johnson serves as the Associate Director of Development for Chicago Opera Theater and oversees individual giving and special events.
