Has your nonprofit just recruited new board members? Are you a community member who aspires to join a nonprofit board? This introductory course on board service is perfect for new board members who have just joined a nonprofit board, or for those individuals within the community who are considering joining a board.

Unlock the boardroom door and consider your capabilities, character and willingness to serve on a board of directors. This is an opportunity to explore your professional and personal capabilities and determine what strengths you bring as a potential board member. Examining character is an important part of board practice, in that temperament, commitment, listening, collaboration, and earning trust are key indicators of good board members. An exploration of these strengths, along with a brief examination of emotional intelligence, will create a pathway to excellent board service opportunities.
