SUMMARY:Beyond the Classroom: Institutional Response to Student Basic Needs
DESCRIPTION:In fall 2018\, City Colleges of Chicago participated in The Hope Center’s Real College Survey. From the preliminary data of students who participated in this survey\, we learned that 54% of those students were facing housing insecurity\, 43% food insecurity\, and 15% identified as being homeless. CCC understands that when a student’s basic needs are not met that their potential to be successful academically will be a challenge. This convening is to discuss how CCC has begun strategically building an infrastructure to support the basic needs of its student population.

SUMMARY:Developing Nonprofit Talent and Capacity
DESCRIPTION:Grantmakers and operating nonprofits exist to make positive change in the world.
