SUMMARY:Practicing Trauma Informed Care in the Workplace
DESCRIPTION:This session for operating nonprofits and grantmakers will explore what constitutes as trauma\, how thoughtfully applying Trauma Informed Care helps us to responsibly serve our constituents\, and what that means for our work. \nTrauma Informed Care (TIC) is a highly referenced framework from the mental health field that acknowledges the effects of trauma on individuals. This orientation towards understanding behavior as a result of “what has happened to you” versus “what is wrong with you” has led to TIC principles being adopted across various sectors and disciplines. \nBut what does it look like to apply TIC principles in our services and in the workplace? While the increased momentum outside the behavioral sciences is welcomed\, TIC is not always fully understood by those who seek to practice it. Join Forefront and expert facilitator Dr. Colette Thélémaque-Collier for an in-depth look at how to change your practices to best support your constituents and staff. \n\nThis program is for current Forefront members only. \n\n\nProgram fee: Free for Forefront Members (Members must log into the Forefront website to obtain their discount. Create a new account here.) \nClick here for our cancellation policy. \nNeed help? Email us: registration@myforefront.org
