DESCRIPTION:Using research hot off the presses from the Illinois Workforce and Research Collaborative (IWERC)\, this webinar will share state data on college enrollment patterns in Illinois\, as well as research from a statewide survey on how Illinois high school seniors make the college decision. We will highlight key differences by race/ethnicity\, region within the state\, and whether students chose a college in Illinois or outside the state; we will also discuss implications for supporting students and Illinois colleges.

The purpose of the Council is to advise the Governor and the General Assembly on policy issues impacting South Asian Americans and immigrants\, to advance the role and civic participation of South Asian Americans in this state; to enhance trade and cooperation between South Asian countries and this State; and in cooperation with State agencies\, boards\, and commissions and to build relationships with and disseminate information to South Asian American and immigrant communities across this State. \nScheduled Speakers: \nIllinois State Representative Theresa Mah\nIllinois State Senator Ram Villivalam \nThis program is co-hosted by  Nepalese Aid\, Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Chicago\, SAAPRI\, Muslim Civic Coalition\, Indo-American Center\, the Nepali American Center\, and Chicago Coalition for Human Rights in India.
