DESCRIPTION:Two years ago\, the world stopped. We pushed aside the silos of top-down philanthropy to truly listen and learn. Community\, philanthropy\, and the public sector moved money and other resources to meet the needs of those disproportionately impacted. Foundation racial equity statements proliferated and many in Chicago philanthropy took concrete actions to address racial inequity head-on. \nThe headlines have changed but the inequities remain. Thankfully\, colleagues harnessed that moment to generate movement. They created innovative pooled funds that continue to target resources to groups creating a better way forward. \nFunders are invited to join Forefront and Comer Family Foundation for a conversation with the Chicago Racial Justice Pooled Fund\, Chicago Frontline Funding Initiative\, and the Health First Collaborative to: \n\nUnderstand the purpose and potential of pooled funds to address inequity & empower community for systemic change\nLearn how colleagues from different foundations worked together to develop philanthropy centering Black\, Latino/a/x\, Asian and Indigenous liberation\nIdentify ways to amplify and advance your equity grantmaking\, independently or collectively\n\n*Registration for this event will take place on Zoom.
