DESCRIPTION:In light of the COVID-19 outbreak\, this event has been cancelled. We are currently determining whether or not we will be able reschedule this workshop for a later date. Please check back soon for updates.  \nForefront’s Library holds more than 3\,000 volumes on grantmaking\, fundraising\, nonprofit management and governance\, and is an invaluable resource. It also can be overwhelming. This workshop will provide a place to start a search for funding. You’ll get a brief overview of our databases\, the Library’s print collection\, and online research guides. The session also will take a deeper look at Candid’s database\, Foundation Directory Online. \nParticipants will leave with the ability to use Forefront Library databases to conduct research on potential grant funding. In this session\, our panel will focus on practical ways to support and manage staff virtually\, stay in close communication during times of crisis\, build a cohesive online culture\, and make key decisions that are focused on organizational stability. \nClick here to register.  \n  \nPanelist this week: \nHeather Eddy has worked with nonprofits and institutions to build capacity\, and the past 12 years she has specifically worked to strengthen executives\, boards\, managers and philanthropic leaders. As a frequent speaker\, she increasingly contributes knowledge in the areas of strategic philanthropy\, executive succession\, team building\, and engagement of boards/governing bodies. \nK Sujata brings over two decades of nonprofit experience in organizational development\, fundraising\, and team building to her consulting practice which is focused on leadership development and organizational resilience. \n  \nModerator:  \nLisa May Simpson oversees Forefront’s Member Engagement programming to ensure it is designed to meet the needs of Illinois grantmakers\, nonprofits\, and advisors. Lisa has served as an independent coach\, facilitator\, and consultant for a variety of individuals and organizations including Chicago Women in Philanthropy\, the Chicago Arts Learning Initiative (CALI)\, and Ingenuity\, Inc.
