#ILVote: Harnessing the Power of the Social Impact Sector to Promote Civic Engagement

As part of Forefront’s Democracy Initiative, we are empowering and training nonprofits to build voter engagement into the fabric of their organizations.  Please join us for a special event to kick-off #ILVote - Forefront’s civic engagement campaign to register and help people to vote.  At this event, we will recognize the 20 nonprofits that were awarded grants, in partnership with Nonprofit VOTE, to support voter engagement across Illinois ahead of the November midterm elections.

Attendees will get the chance to hear from Tim Delaney, President & CEO of the National Council of Nonprofits, who will set the stage for the nonprofit and philanthropic community of Illinois to leverage our network in service of a vibrant democracy. Tim will offer a “state of the sector” when it comes to civic engagement work from a national perspective. Anita Banerji, Director, Democracy Initiative at Forefront, will share what we can do locally to ensure all voices are being heard, represented, and counted.

The team from Ballot Ready will share their innovative online tool that makes it easy for voters to research and understand every candidate and referendum up for election. Nonprofit VOTE will also be on hand to share the nonpartisan resources they have available for nonprofits to help the people they serve participate and vote.

The event will culminate in a reception (5-6pm) to network and gather inspiration for how you can bring civic engagement into your mission.

Join us Tuesday, July 24th to kick-off #ILVote and learn how your nonprofit can help build a vibrant democracy in Illinois.
