Learning from Illinois’ $100 Million National Foreclosure Settlement Remediation Work, and Exploring Opportunity Zones and other Potential Strategies.

The National Foreclosure Settlement provided Illinois with $100 million in funding to strengthen and rebuild communities adversely affected by the foreclosure crisis in 2008 and need revitalization. How will the allocation of these resources inform future housing, community, and economic development efforts?

Forefront, Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul, and national community reinvestment expert Evan S. Weiss will join select NFS beneficiaries to springboard the conversation from the impact of these funds in Illinois to how future initiatives, including Opportunity Zones, can learn from and build on this work.
