SUMMARY:Rapid Response North Side Community Meeting (Virtual)
DESCRIPTION:Under the guise of restoring “law and order” it has been confirmed that over 300 ICE agents will be deployed to the city and may last up to 45 days. With swarms of ICE agents\, armored vehicles\, and potential National Guard to follow\, many of Chicago’s Black\, Brown and immigrant communities have been thrown into fear. Chicago has seen many challenges before—but in the face of this coordinated federal incursion we need a disciplined\, creative and bold organizing strategy. \nJoin ONE Northside at this meeting to learn how organizations and people can plug into our three Rapid Response Strategies: 1) Education\, 2) Community Defense\, 3) Neighbor to Neighbor Solidarity. We will have breakouts for schools (staff and parents)\, service agencies and congregations that are connected to vulnerable populations\, and individuals and organizations who are allies and want to help mobilize to protect our neighbors.
