Proposal writing is a team effort. This workshop series is designed for teams of two to four colleagues from across different areas of your organization – in fundraising, finance, administration, and program – and will break down the parts of the proposal, each person’s role in creating it, and how to collaborate as a team in order to secure grants.

Teams will focus on a real-life project or program concept as well as an upcoming funding opportunity for which you are planning to submit a proposal. As a team, you’ll learn how to present your project within the larger context of your organization’s mission and the needs your program addresses and apply that knowledge by drafting a proposal. In the second half of the series, you will receive feedback from grantmakers on your draft.

Dates:    April 18 and May 23, 2018
Time:    9:00am – 4:00pm
Cost:    $600 per team / $450 per team for Members

Prerequisite: Creating a Theory of Change, Introduction to Proposal Writing

A working theory of change is key to all of the skills taught in our nonprofit management programs so we encourage participants to 1) bring a current theory of change or logic model to relevant workshops, or 2) attend a Creating a Theory of Change workshop before attending any other of our nonprofit management programs. If you’re unable to do either, please take some time in advance of your chosen workshop to consider your own program or organization’s purpose and goals. You may find a useful resource.

Also consider:    Storytelling with Impact, Nonprofit Financial Management

Registration for the Advanced Proposal Writing series includes both workshops and is priced on a per-team basis, not an individual basis. Only one member of the team should register online. After payment is processed, you’ll receive instructions on how to register other team members. Teams may consist of up to 4 representatives from the same organization.
