In this introductory-level workshop, we’ll provide a primer on nonprofit finance and accounting and interpreting financial statements. Armed with those tools, you’ll learn how to present your financial information as part of a grant proposal that reflects the real costs of your program. This session is well suited for finance, program, and development staff.

Nonprofit Financial Leadership

In this high-level session, we’ll provide key strategies to ensure your organization remains financially solvent, has a sustainable business model, and progresses towards achieving its mission. We’ll also explore how to connect your budget to the strategic plan and the operating plan and create an inclusive budgeting process that builds connections between program, development, and accounting staff.

Real Talk About Real Costs

This culminating moderated panel conversation between nonprofits and grantmakers will explore the tough spots when it comes to communicating with each other about finances. What are the red flags that funders look for? How (and when) is it best to share information about challenging financial situations? What prevents nonprofits from including the full cost of a program in proposals, and what practices can we all adopt to move toward a more sustainable sector?
