Streamline Volunteer Background Checks

Volunteers play a critical role in the mission of many nonprofits. Without the time and dedication of volunteers, much of the good work in the social impact sector would not get done. Forefront is working to reduce the cost and time spent to screen volunteers. Through strategic partnerships and by creating tools, we are making it easier for individuals to volunteer for their favorite cause -- and for nonprofits to accept their help.

Vision: An efficient, affordable system for screening volunteers protects clients, reduces costs, and increases volunteer participation.

Long-term goal: More than 1,000 Illinois charitable organizations utilize a common volunteer background check system.

Recent results: Last year, we developed a partnership with Verified Volunteers to design and offer a discounted, streamlined background check system available to our Members.

Work in progress: We will engage at least 50 charitable organizations to commit to using the background check system through the new partnership.
