Governor Quinn laid out his top three priorities for this session: 1) sustaining his veto of a 'smart grid' energy system, 2) ending legislative scholarships, and 3) passing a revised gambling bill. Noticeably absent is paying down the backlog of overdue bills.

As the state readies for the implementation of this new budgeting process that will have a significant impact on Illinois communities, we are advocating for accountability and inclusion of nonprofit and philanthropic stakeholders.

BFR Commission Begins Its Work
