As part of Forefront Illinois’ inaugural Racial Equity Cohort (REC), Central Illinois REC members are hosting a community roundtable discussion for white allies, focused on how we can better show up for our neighbors, particularly in times of crisis.
The roundtable discussion will be an opportunity for white allies to come together, ask important questions, share ideas, and learn how to best support People of Color who are on the frontlines of community organizing and activism.
We believe that by caucusing with those of our identity group, we can reflect on how to improve our allyship, especially in moments when our community is facing extreme challenges, such as police violence or forced displacement of people who are unhoused.
