Public Policy Thursdays: Advocacy 101 for Nonprofits (Hybrid Event)

October 24 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

Free
Please join us via Zoom or in-person at Bloomington Public Library in Bloomington, IL.

Forefront’s free annual training on advocacy rules for operating nonprofits is presented this year in partnership with the McLean County Human Service Council and Central Illinois Community Educators. At this 90-minute hybrid event, nonprofit leaders, staff, board members and volunteers are invited to learn more about the rules for engagement in public policy and advocacy for our sector, when lobbyist registration is required, and how to get more involved at the federal state, and local levels.

Discussion will include election year dynamics such as voter engagement and other permitted activities for nonprofits. Q&A will be available. This event will be recorded, and the slides and recording will be shared with all registrants following the event.

Free and open to the public.

Panelists:

Holly Ambuehl, Director of Policy and Government Affairs, Forefront

Erica Spangler Raz, Managing Attorney, Spangler Raz Law & Consulting
