Preliminary Data Shows $10.4 Million Raised For Illinois Nonprofits on Nov 29, Giving Tuesday

Updated: December 13, 2016

2016 has been the biggest year yet for #ILGive, Illinois’ local #GivingTuesday campaign, which is powered by Forefront.

Based on available data provided by 28 online giving platforms through Giving Tuesday’s Open Data Project, as well as self-reported data from Illinois nonprofits, 20,000 donors from all over the world gave $10.4 million dollars to nonprofits in Illinois.  Results are still being calculated for offline donations, matching gifts, and other giving platforms that haven't reported yet.

Thank you to everyone who participated, promoted, and gave for #ILGive this year — you helped make it our best #ILGive for #GivingTuesday yet!

In the weeks and months to come, we'll share:

  • updated totals as they come in,
  • more specific data around who gave, how they gave, and other trends
  • lessons learned about Giving Days,
  • case studies and podcasts with some of the top fundraisers,
  • and webinars to help you leverage the post-ILGive momentum through the new year.

We simply could not be more inspired by all of the generosity, compassion and good that was achieved last Tuesday. We proved that together, we can make a tremendous impact in Illinois!

Did your nonprofit fundraise on GivingTuesday? Make sure we have your totals! Fill out this quick, 10-question survey.
(If you used the #ILGive/GiveGab platform, there's no need to take the survey: we already have your totals!)
