“At this meeting, Maressa Brennan, from the Milken Institute, will provide an overview of the report “New Models for Funding Post-Secondary Education in Illinois.” The report is the final product from two Financial Innovations Labs®, which brought together government leaders, investors, loan servicers, alternative providers, and state agencies to debate solutions and develop a set of recommendations to enhance the debt options available for students in the state. The report outlines the suggestions from participants to expand on the availability of traditional loan products and introduce newer options with capital available from the Illinois Student Investment Account Act. Further, the Illinois State Treasurer’s Office will provide some context on the report and next steps.”
