Do Even More Good With Donors Forum

workshop brochure coverDonors Forum is excited to announce a new slate of introductory and advanced skill-building workshops for 2014-15. New this year are workshops on policy advocacy.

Proposal Writing

The introductory workshop focuses on positioning your organization to prepare, write, and submit successful proposals to foundations and corporations. This session also includes a unique opportunity to hear from and ask questions of a panel of grantmakers. The advanced proposal writing course — a series of three workshops — is designed for teams of colleagues from the same organization to learn and work together. The workshop series will help staff from across the organization — fundraising, finance, and administration — understand their parts of the proposal, their role in creating it, and how to collaborate to secure grants. Teams will also have the opportunity to ask questions and get feedback from the instructor, peers, and foundation program officers.

Program Evaluation

Are funders asking you to evaluate your programs? Not sure where to start? Program Evaluation 101 will provide you with key terms, concepts, and insights into how funders think about and use evaluation. Program Evaluation 201 will build
on your existing skills in evaluation, challenging you to make evaluation both meaningful and manageable in your organization.

Individual Giving

DId you know that 81 percent of all charitable donations come from individuals? The introductory workshop outlines the top techniques and strategies for turning prospects into donors. This workshop also covers donor solicitation, including online fundraising and moving smaller donors up the giving ladder. The advanced workshop focuses on defining and securing major gifts for your organization.
