Forefront’s Interim Executive Director Announced
Hello,
I hope this finds you safe and healthy. I am writing to you again with a comprehensive update about Eric Weinheimer’s transition from President & CEO. As you may know, Eric’s final day as Forefront’s chief executive will be on June 30, 2020. After six impactful years, Forefront’s Board of Directors thanks Eric for his unwavering commitment to furthering our mission of building a vibrant social impact sector for Illinois.
Forefront’s Executive Committee and entire Board of Directors remain deeply committed to finding the ideal new leader for Forefront who will guide us through these challenging times while developing and executing a comprehensive and just plan for an inspired future.
We also realize that a thoughtful, equitable, and transparent search process takes time. That said, the Morten Group, the national search firm charged with hiring Eric’s replacement, has been hard at work helping lead the search process. Until Eric’s successor is in place, it is imperative that the work of Forefront continues uninterrupted with the necessary rigor and steadfast leadership that these times demand.
To that end, we are delighted to announce that K. Sujata will serve as Forefront’s interim Executive Director beginning Monday, June 15, 2020. Before recently transitioning into private practice, Sujata served as the CEO of the Chicago Foundation for Women, and prior to that, served as the Executive Director of Apna Ghar, Inc.
Sujata shared: I am honored to join Forefront during this time of change as the interim Executive Director to help continue its mission. This will give the search committee of the Board the time it needs to select the right person to lead the organization for the future, while Forefront continues to provide invaluable services to its members across Illinois.
As interim Executive Director, Sujata will closely partner with the Forefront Board and staff to ensure our work continues, the mission advances, and we deliver a steadfast commitment to meet the needs of our stakeholders until our new executive leader is secured.
Current events have proven how vital the role Illinois’ social impact sector plays in carrying out an equitable and sustainable recovery plan – for all! We are deeply excited about Forefront’s future and our opportunity to continue to contribute to the state’s bright and healthy future. Should you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me.
In solidarity,
Greg DiDomenico, Chair of Forefront Board of Directors
Dinaz Mansuri + DeRondal Bevly, Co-Chairs, Forefront Search Committee
