Why Are You In It?
February 27, 2015
Donors Forum is organizing a social media campaign to educate policymakers and urge them to provide adequate state funding so you can do your best work.
As Donors Forum gears up, we want to know: Why are you 'in it'? Your answer is probably inspiring and compelling.
You might be 'in it' to provide shelter to homeless youth. Or you might be 'in it' to protect our natural resources for future generations. Or, you might be 'in it' to provide quality medical care to seniors. Given the current state of the Illinois state budget, your answer to this question and our action around it becomes more important than ever.
Last week, Donors Forum shared the sector’s impact by responding to the Governor’s budget address. Now we want you to share your voice and your influence by highlighting what drives you to do your best work.
Please join our advocacy campaign by:
1. Checking out why Breakthrough is "in it” and
2. Sharing why your organization is "in it," following their example. Click here to tweet your story.
In the end, we want to ensure that social impact organizations and missions in Illinois receive adequate state funding. Social media is our first step in a multi-year campaign that will help us meet this goal.
Stay tuned for updates in the coming weeks and months for more action steps. We are committed to organizing around this issue and elevating the value and voice of the sector.
