PCC will present takeaways from our recent report outlining innovative ways to approach adequate funding for public four-year universities. Using Illinois-specific data, this report looks at the connection between what the state appropriates, what institutions spend, and student outcomes. We will talk about the limitations of the funding models that are typically used, present recommendations for developing a first-of-its-kind adequacy-based funding model and lead a discussion on opportunities and challenges emerging in research and practice.
