This series will introduce you to the power of Appreciative Inquiry to help enhance your leadership skills, turn significant change opportunities into “something that’s intrinsically motivating instead of externally depleting, strengths-focused instead of deficit-focused, and innovation inspired instead of fear-driven, defensive, and divisive.” This is a 2-day series and attendance is required for both sessions.

Valerie S. Lies, Donors Forum's President and CEO, announced earlier this year that she will retire as of June 30, 2014. She has led Donors Forum since 1987. The Donors Forum Board of Directors is employing best practices for a thoughtful, careful, and smooth executive transition, and the search for the next leader of Donors Forum is underway. The Transition Committee is moving forward and a search firm has been selected. Here is an update on the process and an invitation to share your thoughts as we move forward.

Laura Zumdahl, Donors Forum's Vice President of Nonprofit Services, has been selected as a recipient of the 40 Under 40 Award, given by the Association Forum of Chicagoland, a nonprofit association that advances the practice of association management, and USAE, an association management trade newspaper.

In thinking about David La Piana’s remarks at the Donors Forum Annual Luncheon in June, one statement in particular struck me. Yes, “transformation is not optional” was an eye opener, but that’s not it. It was a more simple one. David noted that all of us can make a difference, but to do so we “must take our egos out of it."
